Jamie Bernstein and Dave Easley join forces for an unforgettable musical November

Jamie Bernstein’s Appalachian upbringing, spent in a TeePee and log cabin on the side of Peters Mountain, instilled in him a deep connection to nature and a passion for music. From his early days in West Virginia to his poetic endeavors in New Orleans, Jamie’s musical evolution has taken him on a profound path. Jamie’s solo projects, including “WhoonDang” and “You Don’t Know Me” (recorded with Dave Easley), have garnered recognition and even inspired covers by acclaimed artists like, grammy winner, Jimbo Mathus.

Jamie’s latest venture, Future Cowboys has been praised for its innovative production and songwriting.  Future Cowboys’ record “Life on Mars!” has captivated audiences with its visionary sound. Jamie has penned songs and performed with the likes of James Andrews, Trombone Shorty, Ivan Neville, and SOUL Brass Band. His songs have also been used in numerous films.

Dave Easley’s musical journey began with him playing pedal steel alongside seasoned jazz musicians twice his age. His plunge into the jazz world, guided by veterans like Lin Halliday, shaped Dave’s approach to music with a unique blend of spontaneity and work ethic. Collaborating with renowned performers such as Brian Blade, Cyril Neville, Peter Rowan, Colonel Bruce Hampton, Papa Mali, and Joni Mitchell, Dave has established himself as a virtuoso of the pedal steel guitar. 

Dave’s recent releases, “Byways of the Moon” and “Easley Rider,” have garnered critical acclaim, with NPR hailing his touch on the instrument as truly impressive and Raven Sings The Blues describing his tone as immaculate. Robert Silverstein, of Roots Music Report, sings his praises: “Well-known for his pedal steel guitar playing, Hawaii-born, Louisiana-based Dave Easley is an equally fine singer-songwriter.”
