BEMI at FLB 10/13/22
Bemi is a Georgia Native with British/Jamaican roots, daughter of LoveJoys Marla Allen herself and bass player Jah-T Allen ex Congo member. Based out of Tennessee, with a musical history in her family, she was 15 years old when she began singing for The Best Atlanta Carribean Band award winning Natti Love Joy’s. With whom she has opened for acts like Toots and The Maytals and E.N. Young from Tribal Seeds. Bemi’s style could be easily described as a blend of r&b,reggae and soul! Every performance she gives on a bigger to a smaller stage she connects and understands the assignment. She grew up singing along to the sounds of Amy Winehouse, Jazmine Sullivan,Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin, Toots and The Maytals and more that have had an influence on her style of performing. She’s a true lover of music and a voice for her people.
