He made guitars out of cardboard before getting his first one at 13. Born in Hudson\, NY\, he later moved to Albany\, NY\, then Boston\, and currently lives in Asheville\, NC. He has released nine records and played thousands of shows. He has performed in theaters\, concert venues\, festivals\, clubs\, bars\, libraries\, retirement homes\, subways\, performed on the street and even played at a marathon. He played over 200 shows a year for several years.

DESCRIPTION:Jackson Grimm\n\nJackson Grimm marries folk pop melodies with the lonesome sound of traditional Appalachian music. In a region with a strong music culture\, it is no surprise that Grimm’s songwriting is representative of his musical birthplace: Asheville\, NC. \nThe Bull Moose Party was Grimm’s backing band for his 2018 debut album which was hailed “..a basically perfect Americana album” (country.de) and contained “very appealing songs” (thenextgig.nl). The core of the band continues to play as the One Stringband. While each of the band members demonstrate years of proficiency on their instruments\, what sets this ensemble apart from the others are the vocal harmonies and the band dynamics. Audiences can tell when bands have been playing together for years and this group shows that 10-fold. \nJackson Grimm & the Bull Moose Party brings a perfect mixture of high-energy bluegrass\, beautiful melodies\, & real\, raw songwriting. \nOld Sap\n \nOLD SAP: A poet from Chicago\, rambled out to Montana\, cut a banjo from a tamarack\, strings across the country\, foot like a freight train\, voice rushing down over lush Appalachia\, sings a thrush tune through the rush hour and into your long-forgotten prairie dreams. \nFolk. Folk Rock. Americana. \nFinally landing in Asheville in 2018\, Old Sap’s ensemble released their first album together at the end of 2019. \nA Yard with Lilacs is an Eclectic Americana album. The full band sound features honky tonk guitars\, a New Orleans-style horn section\, thrashing drums\, infectious melodies\, soul-warming harmonies\, and sparkling flourishes from fiddle and piano. Guided by lyrics that are imagistic\, funny\, and heart-wrenching\, listeners are teased back to a less-anxious time and place. \nAfter its release\, A Yard with Lilacs has been enjoying regional radio play from WNCW and 98.1 The River.

The Arc has continued to grow and evolve along with the changing needs and issues people with disabilities and their families face — and has played a pivotal role in changing the public perception of disability. Ultimately\, The Arc reduces the stress of caring for an adult child with IDD by providing professional full-time residential care as well as independent care services.
